Volubilis and Moulay Idriss

Try to translate the French before reading the English!

Lundi je suis allée à Volubilis avec mon coloc'.Volubilis c'est des ruines d'une ville romaine qui se trouve assez près de Meknès (une assez petite ville qui n'est pas très loin de Rabat...ça fait vers 2 heures par train.) Je n'avais pas l'école parce qu'il y avait un jour férié pour célébrer l'indépendence marocaine de France donc c'était une façon parfaite de passer le jour.

Prémièrement on a pris le train à Meknès oú on a dejeuné - les menus sont tous en français donc c'est très facile pour moi à commander de la nourriture. Puis on a pris un grand taxi à Volubilis ce qui est très beau et ancien. On a passé une heure là-bas en regardant les vues et les vieux bâtiments. C'était vraiment agréable.

Ensuite, le chaffeur de taxi nous a emmené à Moulay Idriss, ce qui est une tellement petite ville. Elle est nommée pour le petit-fils du prophète Mahomet. Tous les bâtiments sont blancs et on a vu quelques signes en arabe, français et berbère. On a vu la mosquée mais on n'a pas pu y entrer parce qu'on n'est pas musulmans. Mais les vues étaient vraiment belles et je me suis bien amusée!

On Monday I went to Volubilis with my flatmate. Volubilis is a ruin of a Roman city which is found next to Meknès (a quite small city which is not far from Rabat...about two hours by train). I didn't have school because there was a national holiday to celebrate Moroccan independence from France so it was a perfect way to pass the day.

Firstly we took the train to Meknès where we had lunch - the menus are all in French so it's very easy for me to order food. Then we took a grand taxi to Volubilis which is very beautiful and ancient. We spent an hour there looking at the views and old buildings. It was verynice. 

Then the taxi driver took us to Moulay Idriss, which is a very small city. It is named for the grandson of the prophet Muhammad. All the buildings are white and we saw a few signs in Arabic, French and Berber. We saw a mosque but we couldn't go in there because we are not Muslim. But the views were very beautiful and I had a great time!

Hello! I'm 21 years old and I'm a student at Cambridge University, reading French and Arabic. I've just finished my second year and so next year is my Year Abroad. I will be studying and working voluntarily in Morocco. Currently, I am living with my fiancé in a small flat in Norwich and I work part-time as a teacher of English, Drama and French. My hobbies include drama, reading, writing, watching TV, listening to music, sewing, knitting and art. I love spending time with my family, going on walks and travelling. This year, I am going to Italy twice and Paris once. I had a gap year and spent it doing drama, reading for pleasure, working in a theatre and working in a shop at Christmas.

Coucou! j'ai 21 ans et je suis étudiante de français et arabe à l'université de Cambridge. Je viens de finir ma deuxième année et donc l'année prochaine c'est mon année à l'étranger. J'étudierai et je travaillerai en Maroc. Actuellement, j'habite avec mon fiancé dans un petit appartement à Norwich et je travaille à temps partiel comme prof d'anglais, de l'art dramatique et de français. Mes loisirs sont: l'art dramatique, la lecture, l'écriture, regarder la télévision, écouter de la musique, la couture, tricoter et l'art. J'adore dépenser de temps avec ma famille, faire la promenade et voyager. Cette année, je vais aller en Italie deux fois et Paris une fois. J'ai pris une année de césure et je l'ai dépensé en faisant de l'art dramatique, en lisant pour plaisir, en travaillant dans une théâtre et en travaillant dans un magasin pendant la période de Noël.
